During World War I, the Allied Forces tried to force their way into the heart of Ottoman Empire by the way of Canakkale.
March 18 was the day of Naval Battle. The Allied Fleet was hammered down. Then they tried landing on ground and capturing
the Gelibolu Peninsula. That was April 24-25, 1915. 57th Regiment of the Turkish Army became Martyr Regiment but stopped
the advancing ANZAC troops, thus changing the way of the War.
To commemorate this heroic act and those fallen, TA1HZ and TA2RX operated as TC57ALAY between April 21 and April 25,2007..
